Flames Game Night

Rematch! (8PM MT, HNIC). I demand vengeance! And I expect to get it. Tonight when Joel Quenneville pulls whichever sieve he starts, it's going to keep getting worse.

Calgary 8 (Lombardi, Tanguay, Iginla x3, Langkow, Primeau, Giordano)
Colorado 1 (Mike McEwen)

Go Flames.

Comments:

The CBC has exposed Budaj as a Ned Flanders fan - but it's the Flames that ought to be ashamed after that 1st period.
Did they manage a shot on goal during that entire 5 minute PP?

Hey Dan, check out the score of the game.

Kipper rebounded nicely, but does anybody else scream at the TV when the Flames REFUSE to clear the puck when under pressure and in possession?

The Flames do that to add some excitement to the game and keep Kipper from getting bored.

Yes. I do. Man they frustrate me sometimes. I actually think other teams are getting a 'book' on the Flames and are letting their D-men pinch more, because the Flames are so horrible at clearing the zone.

Still, a much better effort. The first was awful, but they got better as the game went on, and didn't collapse after Colorado got up 2-1. It's a win. I'll take it.

Hey Dan, check out the score of the game.

The Flames played well after the Iginla goal, sure. But the 1st period and opening half of the second they were running around their own end a lot, unable to generate any sustained pressure on the forecheck.

Of course, a win is a win, but to me, the Flames didn't look all that convincing. They've won twice in the last 7 games, I think. They need to improve if they plan on winning the NW, which is about the only way they'll get past the first round.

You've got to give the Avs some credit, too. They were stopping up the neutral zone and getting their sticks into lanes. They are a pretty good PK team.

And I too scream at the TV when the Flames try to do a few pretty moves just inside their own line. Also, when they all decide the boards are a good place to watch while Huselius or Tanguay are looking for someone to pass to.

But it was a much better effort than Thursday. Lets see how Moss looks, and go for a road win on Tues.
