The Boogard

Anyone wanna take a shot at who he injures tonight? I'm gonna take a Wild guess (ha! i slay me!!!), and go with one of those Wilkes-Rapid Stockton Thunder-Admirals kids. Just a guess, though. It could be one of the Oilers, too.

Comments:

Naw, it's gotta be a roster player. Roloson, maybe? Sadly, it won't be Lupul.

All the season ticket holders that renewed yesterday...

Nilsson. Career-destroying concussion.

Maybe Boogaard will put Smith on the IR and out of his misery. God knows it's the only thing that hasn't happened to him this year.

Nillson did just mention today that he'd play his "balls off" tonight (on Sportsnet). Boogard may assist in this surgery by applying an invasive knee.

I just bumped this post up above the Flames one. You know why? Because even when our team sucks ass, we still comment on here way more than those cowboys down south. So I'm gonna take this moral victory, and enjoy it, because it's all I have.

And I'm spent.

And I'm back.

Two more points:

1) If Nilsson actully dropped that line about playing his balls off, I have a whole new level of respect for him. He can be on my team, at least for tonight. It's more chutzpah than we ever got from his old man.

2) I really dropped the ball, or balls as the case may be, in titling this post. I could have upped my Harry Potter street cred by calling it "The Booggaart," or gone hipster with something like, "Don't Boogaard The Ice, Derek." Either way, it would have been much better than what I dropped, which includes a total mispelling of the big ape's name.

How about Buggard for spelling? And how about he checks Toby over the boards into the bench, where he takes out Simpson? Hey, a guy can dream.

so that's what life would have been like if I'd invented the finglonger...

OH MY GOD.

They just profiled Petersen, like in a good way. Ferraro actually said, "he has skill and speed." I'm pretty sure the entire CIO crew just drank hemlock.

He sure did, Andy. Check the pre-game interview at the Oilers' site. He also goes into his nickname with respect to his dad's. ("Minimagic"? We can do better. Is there a way to encapsulate that "...and all I got was this lousy T-Shirt" T-Shirt into a nickname? Or would that be better for Lupul, anyway?)

Is there stamina-killing floor hockey tomorrow, btw? I have so little that's hockey-related to look forward to...

No, but we'll go next week.

And look how empty Rexall is. WOW. WOW.WOW.

Unintentionally funniest Kevin Quinn line of the night (so far):

"Young and Greene are the blueliners."

Holy fuck, ain't that the truth.

Gene Principe with Scott Howson. I'm expecting some tough questions.

Nope. One question and out. I'm terribly surprised.

No, but we'll go next week.

Sign me up!

It's too long since I played. It'll be nice without the ice and puddles.

Nillson scores.

I guess that Smyth trade really was the best negotiation in NHL history...

I can hear Kool-Aid's stock climbing as I type.

But seriously, good for Robert.

That was the closest we've come to not losing yet. For a second I even thought we might get a point, until they said, "Ooo, and Toby Petersen can't keep it in at the point!" and time slowly ticked away. Then it all started coming back to me.

That was the closest we've come to not losing yet.

Mmm... mmph... erhm... mphmmphm..

Bwahahahaha!

Best. Line. Ever.
